GoTour Guide Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VARSOY TURİZM TAŞIMACILIK İNŞAAT SANAYİ VE TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ ("Varsoy," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the GoTour Guide mobile application and the local live-audio service supplied with it. This policy applies to the broadcaster application. The GoTour listener application has a separate privacy policy.

1. Information we process

Live microphone audio

When you give microphone permission and tap Start, GoTour Guide captures audio from your device's microphone and sends it through the local streaming device to listener devices connected to the tour. The microphone may capture your voice and the voices of people nearby.

The application and local streaming device process the audio temporarily to deliver the live tour. Our service does not provide a feature that records, transcribes, identifies voices in, or uses tour audio to train artificial-intelligence systems.

Broadcasting may continue while the application is in the background or the device is locked. You can stop it using the control in the application or, where available, the Android notification. A fresh tap of Start is required before a new broadcast session begins.

Technical information

To connect and deliver a live broadcast, the application and local streaming device process technical information such as local IP addresses, connection and session identifiers, timestamps, request details, and connection or error information.

The application reads the name of the Wi-Fi network to check whether your device is connected to the tour network. On some Android devices, the operating system requires location permission before an application can read the Wi-Fi network name. GoTour Guide does not use this permission to obtain your GPS location.

Information stored on your device

GoTour Guide stores application preferences, such as language, appearance, text size, and application state, on your device. This information normally remains until you clear the application's data or uninstall it. Your operating system may separately retain Wi-Fi settings or backups.

Information you send us

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name or email address, message, attachments, and any diagnostic information you send for support.

GoTour Guide does not require a user account. The reviewed application does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, payment processing, or automatic third-party crash reporting.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

provide live tour broadcasts to connected listener devices;
connect the application to the local tour network;
remember your application preferences;
maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the application and streaming device;
respond to support and privacy requests; and
comply with applicable law and establish or defend legal rights.

3. Local tour network and technical logs

The standard GoTour Guide live-audio service runs through a Varsoy-owned device on the local Wi-Fi network provided for the tour. The device is designed to deliver live audio locally without sending the tour audio through an Internet-hosted media server.

The device keeps local technical logs for troubleshooting, maintenance, and service security. Those logs may contain local IP addresses, connection or session identifiers, timestamps, request details, and error messages. Authorized Varsoy personnel may access the device when maintenance or a firmware update is required.

We may make information available only as needed to:

listener devices connected to the tour and the local streaming device to deliver the live broadcast;
authorized Varsoy personnel who provide support, maintenance, or security;
a tour organizer or network operator where it operates part of the tour service;
providers that host our privacy page or route our email, as described below; and
public authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

Our privacy page is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical information, including an IP address, when you visit that page. Cloudflare Email Routing helps route messages sent to our contact address. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

Apple and Google may separately process information when you download or use the application through their stores or operating systems. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy notices.

A tour organizer may independently collect information about tour reservations, guides, or participants. That information is outside this application's functions and is governed by the organizer's own privacy notice.

5. Retention

Live audio is held only in temporary buffers needed to transmit and play the stream; our service does not save it as a tour recording.

Technical logs on the local streaming device are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to diagnose and resolve technical or security issues and are then manually deleted.

Support correspondence and diagnostic information you send us are deleted within 24 months after the matter is closed, unless they must be kept longer to comply with law or establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

Application preferences remain on your device until you clear the application data or uninstall the application, subject to any separate backup functions controlled by your operating system.

6. International processing

The live tour service is provided on the local tour network. GitHub, Cloudflare, Apple, Google, or their service providers may process information in countries other than Türkiye or the country where you live. Their processing locations and safeguards are described in their own privacy materials.

7. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The GoTour Guide mobile application does not use advertising cookies and does not include behavioral advertising or analytics tools. The external privacy page and app-store services may use their own technologies under their own privacy notices.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information and service. Live audio is encrypted while it travels between the application and the local streaming device.

9. Your choices and rights

You can stop broadcasting, revoke microphone and other permissions through your device settings, change application settings, and clear locally stored application data. There is no GoTour Guide account to delete.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to ask whether we process your personal data and to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Contact us using the details below. We may need information to verify and respond to your request.

10. Children's privacy

Children may use GoTour Guide as part of a tour. The application does not require a child to create an account or provide a name, age, or contact details. Because GoTour Guide transmits microphone audio, a parent, guardian, or responsible tour organizer should supervise a child's use and provide any authorization required by applicable law. If you believe a child's information has been transmitted or sent to us inappropriately, please contact us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the application, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy and update the effective date. We will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
